I’m going to run Almaty half marathon 2019 next month. If you’re planning to run a half marathon, marathon or just a 10k you should have started training a long time ago.
This will be my first official 21k run. I’ve run longer distances in the past but not as part of the competition. I run my first half marathon 2 years ago. Since then, I improved my personal best record by more than 30 minutes.
It’s a tough distance, a lot of things can go wrong. You can have a stomach ache, a knee injury and so on, on the day of the race. I hope everything goes well for everyone.
I started training specifically for 21k about a month ago. There’re more intensive runs, intervals, long runs and all of them are based on a heart rate (I got a Garmin watch right after the Almaty summer 12k run).
A few weeks ago I had a blood test to check my wellness and know what vitamins should I take to improve my performance.
I run 6-8 times and workout 2-3 times a week. My workout plan changed dramatically.
If you’re running a marathon or a half marathon please share your workout plan in the comments section.
Cheers,
